If you want something really bad how far are you willing to go? This might sound easy to do but when things don’t go as a plan or in your favor, how will you handle it? You can either face the problem or run away from it.

In order for people to want to read your blog, it needs to be interesting. Try thinking of topics that are relevant the day of writing the topic and people would want to spend their time reading.

For example, say you have a basketball blog and the Lakers just recently won the championship in the bubble then you would want to write about the Lakers winning the championship while it’s still relevant.

If your blog isn’t interesting no one will read it which means no money.

Growing Popularity By Social Media Channels

Before you can profit from your blog you need people to view it first.

One way is to promote it on your social pages such as Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, or even email. Share each post you create on your social networking profiles and include a link back to your blog. Social platforms are also great for interacting with your fans and keeping them engaged.

But one of the most effective platforms is Pinterest Business. This is what successful bloggers use to promote their blog pages and it’s simple to do!

1. First, you need to create a profile (if you haven’t already)
2. Next, you need to create at least 4-5 boards with at least 50 pins in each board
3. Finally, the last and most important step is to create pins that lead your own blog page with an attractive thumbnail.

If you don’t get a lot of views for the first two weeks, try promoting your pin for as low as $1 a day for a potential of 85 million a month. This is a simple and very effective way to get traffic to your blog page.

Get a Domain From Wealthy Affiliate

This is a must if you want a popular and recognizable website. If you haven’t already, you need to choose a simple and recognizable name for your blog page. Choose one that is short, sweet, and easy to remember. It should also be relevant to your target audience. It needs to be UNIQUE.

For example, you want to create a basketball blog. If the basketball blog name that you want is already taken, you can try using synonyms of the word instead. Try to find unique words that mean the same thing, as these are more likely to still be available.

Using a popular top-level domain like .com makes it easy to recall. And although it will cost money, you don’t need to waste your whole paycheck on it. No matter how good it looks, it’s never a good idea to spend money on an expensive name when a standard domain name will work just as well.

I suggest you could buy your domain from my favorite training platform called Wealthy Affiliate. You could find your domain name from its “Site Domain” feature. If the domain name you want is already taken, it will suggest other domain names for you.

For example, as you can see in the screenshot above. I want to buy a domain name called “basketballblog.com” but it is not available. Then, a list of similar domain names such as “basketballblog.org”, “basketball-blogs.com” and “mybasketballblog.org” will be shown up and you could choose your domain name from them.

Later, as your blog grows and becomes profitable, you can then buy any domain name you want. But, it is important not to spend to much time choosing a domain. There are plenty of very popular and basic names like Bleacher Report, Bronx Pinstripes, Sports Rants, and River Ave Blues. These are very successful blog names that are simple.

Make sure when you do buy your domain it is something you are comfortable with for an affordable price and that is reliable.

Choose an Eye-Catching Theme

A theme is the design template that dictates the way your blog looks. This is also a very important part of your blog page. You must have a unique theme that people go to your page for. It will help you turn your vision into a reality by allowing you to make decisions regarding your menu layouts, logo, featured images, and many other design elements of your blog.

There are thousands of WordPress themes for you to choose from and some paid and some free. It’s important to choose a unique and good looking theme because visitors to your site are going to judge your blog within the first couple of seconds based on the design. If you want people to stick around, you’ll need to have a blog design that is beautiful, unique, and professional-looking.

Advertising – The Most Exciting Step

Another way is the merchandise. Find merchandise that your readers will appreciate and sell it on your basketball blog. Any sports or basketball blog has massive potential for making lots of money selling basketball-related items with the team’s logo or photos of players on it, like sports equipment, t-shirts, mugs, pens (and, these days, face masks), or basically anything that can be printed on, you can sell on your blog.
